History
The Alberni Valley Museum is administered by the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Port Alberni. The museum was originally established as a volunteer-run operation in the 1960s but opened in its present facility under professional management. The museum acquires, interprets, displays and preserves artifacts and photographs relating to the Alberni Valley of Vancouver Island.
