Biographical history

Crestbrook Forest Industries Ltd. received approval from the Government of Alberta in Dec. 1990 to construct a $1.6 billion bleached kraft pulp mill south of the Athabasca River between the towns of Athabasca and Lac La Biche, approximately 200 km north of Edmonton. Crestbrook incorporated an Alberta company, Alberta-Pacific Forest Industies Inc., to be the operating company for the project acting on behalf of Crestbrook, Mitsubishi and other major investors.
