Custodial history

Precise custodial information for most photographs in this collection is unknown. In the 1980s, the archivist of the Guelph Public Library began assembling the various photographs that were found throughout the Library and centralized their storage in a newly created archives. These photographs formed the basis of this collection. Newer donations of individual photographs received by the archives are accessioned into this collection.

Scope and content

This collection consists of photographs collected by the Guelph Public Library archives. The photographs offer a wide range of images covering various aspects of the City of Guelph and its history.

The collection is arranged sequentially by an old reference code (A). The item listings of these records found in the Archive's photographic database still retain this old reference code.
