The Bay Roberts Archives, which are located on the second floor of the Cable Building, have been established and are run by the Bay Roberts Heritage Society, Inc. In 2005 a grant was obtained from the Canadian Council of Archives to establish an Archives. Shirley Owen and Elizabeth Jerrett have attended training and are now, with student help, actively conserving, documenting, and properly storing the archival material that has been acquired.
In 1995, the Bay Roberts Heritage Society acquired and restored the historic Cable Building on Water Street and the archives are housed on the second floor. The archives room has humidity and temperature control.
The archives has a collection of sealer's registries, photographs dating from the 1920s, early editions of the Bay Roberts Guardian, business records, local authors' works, cemetery inscriptions, and business cards.
