C'est en mai 1969, que les frères Richard et Robert Monderie, commencent à opérer un studio de photographies sous le nom de S.P.C. (Spécialité photo couleur). Les deux photographes oeuvrent dans le domaine de la photographie commerciale, des événements spéciaux ainsi que de la photographie studio. En 1971, le studio S.P.C. change sa raison sociale et devient le Studio Photographie Rouyn inc. À ce moment, il ajoute un autre créneau à ses activités : celui de la vente d'appareils et d'accessoires de photographies ainsi que le développement de la pellicule photo. Robert Monderie délaisse l'entreprise pour orienter sa carrière vers le cinéma en 1974, son frère Richard poursuivra seul l'opération du commerce jusqu'en 1985
