Series consists of records in two cases of dispute between the student body and the administration of Wesley College. The bulk of the records are a series of correspondence concerning a disagreement between W.H. Douglas, a student in residence, and Principal Sparling; Mr. Douglas was defended by the student body, and the dispute came to a hearing whose transcript is included. There is also correspondence related to a petition given by the Student Representative Council in 1904 to install a telephone in the residence.

King Memorial Fund

Series consists of correspondence and financial records of the King Memorial Fund. Series is arranged into two boxes: the first contains incoming correspondence about subscription to the Fund, arranged alphabetically by the name of sender. The second box contains the reports of Rev. Joseph Hogg, who travelled around Canada soliciting subscription, particularly from Presbyteries; the memos and incoming and outgoing correspondence of the King Memorial Fund Committee; and a list of subscriptions from Presbyteries, arranged alphabetically.

The King Memorial Fund began in May 1902 as an effort to raise $50,000 in order to endow a Chair in New Testament Exegesis called the King Memorial Chair. The Chair was meant to honour Manitoba College's first Principal, Dr. John Mark King, who had passed away in 1899. The second Principal, Dr. William Patrick, was appointed to the Chair in 1905 and by the following year the fundraising goal had been surpassed.

Series consists of The Gleam, a five-issue serial published during the academic year of 1913-1914 in which Manitoba and Wesley College undertook a partial administrative amalgamation for the first time. Content includes essays and creative writing from students and faculty and College news and announcements, of the same nature as Vox Wesleyana and Manitoba College Journal. The administrative amalgamation was abandoned at the end of 1914 and The Gleam was discontinued.
