Gordon F. Hogarth fonds

Fonds consists primarily of photographs taken by Gordon F. Hogarth depicting the activities of the Hogarth family in Ontario circa 1898-1920. Included are portraits of Gordon Hogarth, his wife Margaret, his parents, and their children, Margaret and Gordon on vacation, at home and at leisure.

Fonds also includes photographs of: mainly unidentified persons including men in military uniforms, firefighters, and persons recreating; railway tracks, bridges, locomotives, railway construction scenes, and the Canadian Pacific Railway derailment at Spanish River (1910); scenes in Toronto, including High Park, Jarvis and Bathurst Streets, and the Boer War Veterans' Arch. Included also are school interiors, grounds, and gardens being tended by students in various Southern Ontario locations during the early 1930s.

Fonds also consists of three photographic exposure diaries documenting entries for individual exposures including information on the date, time, medium, exposure and subject. Some of the prints mentioned in these diaries are found in this fonds. Included also are postcards received or collected by the Hogarth family.

Fonds consists of the records of Hamilton architect, R.E. McDonnell. Fonds includes architectural drawings and photographs from McDonell's various projects. Projects documented include: the Ranchman's Club; the Norton Palmer Hotel; the Refectory Building; the approach from the Queen Elizabeth Way to the Peace Bridge at Fort Erie and various private residences. Fonds also contains textual records such as letters of recommendation from various architects and engineers in addition to correspondence concerning the Queenston Heights Refectory.

Nell Maciborka fonds

Fonds consists of 50 photographs of horse teams and farming, and unidentified portraits. The portraits were taken by various photographers primarily located in Orillia, Ontario. Also included in the fonds is a Grand Dominion & Industrial Exhibition ticket (1887); a J. McLauchlan & Sons advertisement for cream soda (19--?); a postcard of Victoria Harbour, Lamber Co's Office; and a hand coloured postcard of H.R.H. The Prince of Wales on the 1st Anniversary of his visit to Canada in 1919.

Fonds consists of photographs of Rugg and O'Connor families. The photographs depict primarily informal and formal group and individual portraits of the Rugg and O'Connor families of Toronto. 84 of the photographs in the collection are contained in an album. A list indentifying the individuals depicted in the album is available in the same container as the album. A number of the photographs were taken by family member William O'Connor, a Toronto photographer. A small number of photographers relate to Ryerson Press where Herbert Rugg was an employee.

Fonds consists of architectural records of Earle C. Morgan. Fonds includes 73 sets of architectural drawings and photographs from Morgan's various projects. Principal projects represented in this fonds are: E.P. Taylor's country home, Fort Erie Racetrack, Old Woodbine Racetrack, New Woodbine Racetrack, Wrentham Estates (York Mills Shopping Centre), National Stud Farm Facilities, Mohawk Raceway, Garden City Raceway, Greenwood Stables, Blue Bonnets Raceway, and Lyford Cay Development.

In addition, fonds contains Earle C. Morgan architectural firm's textual records. These include project lists, cashbooks, ledgers, receipts and correspondence. There are also newspaper clippings relating to architectural design and arranged alphabetically into subject files.

Fonds consists of glass plate negatives and lantern slides of miscellaneous subjects, and acetate negatives of the construction of the Burlington Skyway and also of vessels in Burlington Bay. Glass plate negatives and lantern slides show various subjects including photographers with their cameras and equipment; photographers at work; portraits; and also landscape scenes. Negatives show the construction of the concrete and steel supports and framework of the Burlington Beach Skyway, as well as images of various shipping vessels and tugs in Burlington Bay.

Fonds is described in two series : 1.) Frank Wright collection of glass plate negatives and lantern slides; and 2.) Burlington Skyway construction and Burlington Bay.
