The fonds consists of research materials collected or created by Gilda Rath. The fonds generally relates to three themes: excerpts from the Edmonton Bulletin 1880-1882, and the Saskatchewan Herald, 1879-1882; the story of the Lamoureux family from their origins in Quebec to their settlement in the Edmonton district; translations of correspondence from the Oblate Archives relating to members of the order and to the history of the Edmonton area. Also included is information on First Nations, Metis, steamboat transportation on the North Saskatchewan, and notes and excerpts from other sources. The research material appears to have been accumulated for a book on the history of French settlement in North America and the Canadian northwest, focusing on the Lamoureux family. A partial typescript of this work is included in the fonds. Some of the notes are transcripts from tape recordings, but the original tapes are not present.

The fonds consists of a copy of a speech given on the presentation of Honorary Life Membership to Dr. Mason.

This fonds includes records of two predecessor fonds, though they are not easily separable in the records. -- minutes and other documents of the Edmonton Public Hospital/City Hospital/Royal Alexandra Hospital and minutes and other documents of the Strathcona General Hospital. There are minutes and other documents of the Edmonton Hospital Board from its inception in 1913 to 1960, including minutes of three organizations created to support the board - the Royal Alexandra Hospital Association (1913-1926), Strathcona Hospital Committee (1913-1915) and Isolation Hospital Committee (1913-1914). There are also materials placed in the cornerstone of the Royal Alexandra Hospital in 1910.

The fonds consists of a fragment of a family tree created between 1912 and 1947; tax assessments, 1915; letters re: patients, 1917; permits and registrations for a gun, 1920, 1945, and 1947; Also included is a patients' account book, 1912 to 1915.

The fonds consists of documents relating to the incorporation of the Edmonton Creche Society, changes in name, and final disposition of funds, minute books, annual, committee and matron's reports, financial statements. Also included are scrapbooks of newspaper clippings, the gavel of the society, and the corporate seal of the society.
