Lorieau family fonds

The fonds consists of family photos and personal records of Marie-Claire Lorieau, including a scrapbook, an autobiography and press clippings related to Henri Garnier, and the marriage certificate of her grandfather, Alcibiade Lamoureaux, dating from 1883.<br>
Also included is a recorded radio coverage of the 25 years of Edmonton Opera, with interviews including Lucien Lorieau, and a booklet about the first years of the Edmonton Opera.

Gil Cardinal fonds

The fonds consists of records from Gil Cardinal’s independent and freelance projects; the film companies co-founded by Cardinal (Great Plains Productions, Kanata Productions, Strange Empire Productions); and his work for NFB, BBC, or other broadcasters.

The textual materials contain the complete business records of Great Plains Productions, creative records for specific projects (including scripts, notebooks, shot lists, story boards, and editing notes), administrative records for specific projects (including contracts, financial records, grant applications, and correspondence), developmental records related to unrealized projects, and personal records (including correspondence, speaking notes, speeches, and teaching material).

The films consist of home movies from Cardinal’s foster family (some of which were used as part of Foster Child); a tour of the Canadian Museum of Civilization with its architect, Douglas Cardinal; and release prints of Foster Child.

The videocassettes consist of original shooting tapes and completed masters of several projects. Most prominent among these are My Partners, My People, Our Home and Native Land, The Great Possibility, and David with F.A.S. There are also masters, but not shooting tapes, for several other projects including Big Bear, Chiefs (for both episodes directed by Cardinal), Totem, and others. Some of these masters are on DVD as well as videocassette.

The photographs, negatives, and slides consist of images shot by Cardinal during the course of filming, images of special events, and family photos.

Fonds includes telegrams, correspondence, agreements, resolutions, minutes, notices, shareholder lists, shares, contracts, test hole logs, financial records, survey reports, a postcard, bank books, receipts, insurance policies, advertising posters, shares, income tax returns, tax assessments and notices, employee lists, coal statistics, telephone directories for Taber and Lethbridge, Alberta, newspaper clippings about F. Hallworth and the history of Taber and Grassy Lake, Alberta Briquetting Corporation Ltd. shares, and maps depicting Taber subdivisions and the mines of Victor W. Campbell, Continental Coal Corporation Ltd. The fonds dates from 1965 to 1986 and includes records related to finance such as receipts, ledgers, balance sheets and budgets, pay roll registers; records related to membership including membership ledger receipts, alphabetical membership lists, and correspondence; records relating to election campaigns including promotional material for party candidates, films, audio recordings, handbooks, voters lists, correspondence, campaign buttons, election returns, candidate profiles, speech notes, campaign group photos, and clippings; records related to conventions and conferences such as agendas, conference packages, proceedings, minutes, photographs; records related to committees and commissions including correspondence regarding the Edmonton Steering Committee and the Women's Liberal Commission; records related to leaders including photographs, news releases, correspondence, policy statements, position papers, reports, speech notes, expenses; records relating the adjunct liberal associations including the Alberta Women's Liberal Association including constitution and bylaws, executive lists, correspondence, meeting notes and minutes and records of the Young Liberals including position papers, member lists, and records related to the Student Liberals at the University of Alberta including correspondence.

Alberta Ministry of Employment, Immigration and Industry fonds

The fonds consists of executive, administrative and operational records generated in the performance of the following functions:; administration and provision of social allowance, income support and other public welfare programs; services to families, including maintenance enforcement and mediation; appeal panels for various service programs; program delivery through regional offices; financial management for the department;personnel management for the department;program planning and development; and;union certification and administration of collective agreements. The fonds contains records of the Workers' Compensation Board, the Personnel Administration Office, and the Labour Relations Board. Information about the records of these subordinate agencies may be found in the respective sous-fonds descriptions. The Ministry of Employment, Immigration and Industry fonds also contains records relating to child welfare programs. These records were retained by the Department of Family of Social Services and came into the custody of the Ministry of Employment, Immigration and Industry before their transfer to the Provincial Archives. The fonds contains correspondence, reports and statistics, a wide variety of types of case files, reference material for the use of the Department's executive officers, collective agreements, committee agendas and minutes, applications, briefing papers and publications.
