Series consists of records in two cases of dispute between the student body and the administration of Wesley College. The bulk of the records are a series of correspondence concerning a disagreement between W.H. Douglas, a student in residence, and Principal Sparling; Mr. Douglas was defended by the student body, and the dispute came to a hearing whose transcript is included. There is also correspondence related to a petition given by the Student Representative Council in 1904 to install a telephone in the residence.

Series consists of two scrapbooks concerning Wesley College, Manitoba College, the Methodist and United Churches, and Winnipeg life generally. The first scrapbook is a collection of songbooks, and primarily photographic newspaper and magazine clippings: of faculty of Wesley College and the University of Manitoba, graduate and student groups, editorials, Church officials, and some historical figures. The second scrapbook was kept by a Wesley College student, Rev. Homer Lane [Arts '25], and consists of newspaper clippings concerning Wesley College, ephemera from College, Church, and other events, and correspondence from friends and classmates.

Sarah M. West Estate

Series consists of legal documents and correspondence related to the estate and will of Sarah M. West, 1852-1938, who bequeathed $5,000 to Wesley College. Series is arranged into two files. The first contains correspondence between Wesley College (United College after 1938) and the estate's executor, Northern Trusts Company, concerning its execution; as well as a summary and copy of the will itself. The second contains correspondence, primarily between United College and Northern Trusts Company and Victoria College, respectively, concerning a legal dispute over the distribution of the estate's funds.

File consists of records compiled by the Edwin Loftus, Secretary of the Wesley College Board, on behalf of several administrative bodies of Wesley College: the Board, the Executive Board, the Finance Committee, and the Investment Committee. Records include financial reports; correspondence among College faculty and Board members, and with the Methodist Church or other parties; minutes of the administrative bodies' meetings; and the documents and reports compiled for use at the meetings. Records reflect a wide spectrum of College business. Series is arranged into six files, which reflect the Investment and Finance Committees respectively and several more, sorted chronologically, for the Board.
