Includes typewritten notes on curation of military history collections, and a scrapbook about Calgary history (compiled 1966).

Royal Canadian Air Force, Station Edmonton collection

The collection consists of a scrapbook (1943-1947) containing newsclippings, 55 photographs, and 2 programs, possibly compiled by a civilian employee, documenting newsworthy events, graduating classes, and social activities of No. 2 A.O.S. and Northwest Air Command, and news related to Air Force involvement in the Second World War in general. The accession also included a scrapbook documenting the Royal Visit of 1939, and a Canadian Wheat Board permit documenting deliveries of grain to elevators at Bulwark, Alberta by W. Bowen in 1942-1943. It is not known whether the latter two items are related to the Station Edmonton scrapbook.

The collection reflects the diverse collecting interests of Eric Harvie and consists of materials from many different sources. Much of the material reflects western Canadian history and military history. It includes many isolated items bearing autographs of statesmen, military leaders, and other famous people. The materials were originally arranged in accession number order by the Riveredge Foundation, but subsequently the order has been lost. Many of the items within the collection have been described separately as fonds or parts of fonds.
