Biographical history
Mary Wallace Hamilton was born in New Westminster, B.C., and attended school on Pender Island and in Victoria. She graduated from McGill University in 1914 and was a teacher at Victoria High School from 1914 to 1951. In 1921-1922, she took a year off to travel around Europe and visit friends and relatives.

The fonds consists of the following series: academic diplomas, 1907-1914; personal correspondence from Hamilton to her family during a trip to Europe, 1921-1922; and photographs of her European travels; other photographs documenting Hamilton's time at Victoria College, 1909-1950.
