Biographical history
Mona Morley was raised in Kamloops, B.C. by her parents Henry L. Morley and Frances Emily Hope Ford Morley. Her parents were married in 1907. Morley moved to Victoria in 1939, where she attended Victoria College from 1939-41. During the 1950s, she became "Novice Ruth" at the Anglican Convent of the Epiphany in Truro, Cornwall, where she did liturgical embroidery work. She later returned to Victoria and was active at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, and Christ Church Cathedral.
Custodial history
Scope and content
The fonds consists of diaries and correspondence. The diaries (personal diaries, travel diaries, "Novice Ruth" diaries) provide an extensive record of her personal reflections on her activities and views from 1931-1950, after which time they become less comprehensive. The correspondence includes some inward correspondence, and transcribed copies of outward correspondence from 1949-1955.
