Biographical history
Nora Gladstone, 1920-2009, was born in Standoff, Alberta, the daughter of Janie and James Gladstone. She attended St. Paul's Anglican Residential School from 1925 to 1937. In the latter year she was chosen as one of four aboriginal youth from Canada to attend King George VI's coronation in England. She completed high school at Bedford Road Collegiate in Saskatoon. She trained as a nurse in Toronto and at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria. Graduating in 1945 she worked in the hospital for three years before returning to Cardston, Alberta. Nora married Ed Baldwin in 1955 and they lived in several communities in British Columbia, including Kitimat and Comox. From 1961 to 1985 she worked at Vancouver General Hospital.

The fonds consists of family correspondence (1930s-1970s), diary (1946-1954), incoming correspondence (1920s-1940s), speeches, newspaper clippings, videotape, autograph books (1930s), and photo albums (including trip to England).
